How To Stay Awake During Classes

You may have classes of different levels of interest. Some may be boring, some may be worth anticipating; you may even have classes you wish you don't have to take. So, you may be fall asleep in classes that you less interest. How to stay awake during classes? Let us see, you may take down notes, get some drinks or meals before your class, having a healthy lifestyle and be participate in class to stay awake during classes.

When you having a long period of classes, you may need to take down some notes to help you stay awake. Because, you may be the best in memorizing things but we only use 10% of our brain. It's good to take down notes to keep you busy and to remember things that teacher gave emphasis on. You can use acronyms or any other shortcuts and highlight those words that you don't understand; the good thing here is you can rewrite or edit your notes after class. You will also be more concentrate. Keep your brain busy by following the teacher's discussions, not by daydreaming. Daydreaming may lead you to narcolepsy that makes you lose mentally asleep even though you're physically awake.

On the other hand, never come to class hungry, because an empty stomach won't help your brain and body fully work. Add to that the embarrassment of hearing your tummy grumble, crying for food. In simple words, an empty stomach distracts your concentration. So, you should drink caffeine before going to class such as a coffee or tea so it can keep you alerted. Energy-boosted drinks, ''Red Bull'' or essence of chicken helps build stamina and keep you energized during the time you're in class. However,much is never good; excessive caffeine can cause insomnia, anxiety. So, if you don't want to end up being a lifeless vegetable, be careful with your intakes.

In addition, having a healthy lifestyle is also important to prevent fall asleep during class. The average sleep for an adolescent is 8 hours daily. Of course, we can't avoid those late nights or early mornings that we have to stay awake, but make sure that the reason is academics, and not those booty calls. You know what I mean.=) Try to wake up an extra hour early before leaving the house. This seems to make a person more tired than ever, but believe it or not, this can help you prepared for a busy day and get energize. Also bring some music along so you can start running a coupe miles around your area to boost your strength.

You should also say something during classes. This mean, be participative like join a debate, ask question, and clarify things you don't understand. Formulate questions in your mind, construct them into sentences, and speak up. Next, you should sit in front, because it makes you pay more attention and you can having eye contact with teacher. So, there's no time for you to fall asleep.

Last, we have to make a conscious, concerted effort to avoid or overcome the situation. Come on, have some interest in your class. It may be the most boring subject; but, maybe if you give it a little chance, it wouldn't seem that boring after all. Enjoy every experience university life gives you.
